CONCEPTS OF STRESS AND STRAIN
SIFAT MEKANIK MATERIAL ( Mechanic’s –behaviour of material’s )
Pada kasus ini akan dibahas beberapa sifat mekanik material diantaranya : Kekuatan Tarik, Kekerasan, Ketangguhan (toughness) dan beberapa metode pengujian sifat mekanik dari suatu material. Untuk lebih spesifiknya mari kita bahas satu persatu : KEKUATAN TARIK SUATU MATERIAL , Sifat ini biasanya diturunkan dari kurva stress dan strain suatu hasil uji tarik (Tensil strength).
Didaerah elastis akan berlaku suatu postulat yaitu : Hukum Hooke ; yaitu suatu postulat yang menguasai daerah deformasi elastis, yang di-nyatakan dalam persamaan : s = E . e ( hubungan linier s - e ) Maka : E = s/e
E = Modulus elastisitas/young ( dimana : E @ identik dengan Y pada beberapa buku. )
Sebaliknya pada daerah platis hukum Hooke tidak berlaku . sehingga applikasinya pada daerah deformasi plastis material menjadi invalid . Dan untuk material AN- ISOTROPHY maka deformasi pada material tersebut sangat tergantung pada arah,misalnya : strain pada suatu arah adalah tidak sama dengan strain pada arah yang lainnya.
